CARROLL Partners with Youth Apprenticeship Program in N.C.

The National Real Estate Firm is One of Eleven Employers Joining the Inaugural Career Training Program for Youth

This summer, CARROLL is excited to partner with the Summer Careers Academy for its inaugural career training program, “Building Our Future,” focused on the skilled trades. This program is an opportunity for CARROLL to contribute to the education of youth and young adults, particularly the needs of refugee and migrant families as well as low income students and students of color.

Team members at CARROLL’s Chapel Hill property, Notting Hill by ARIUM, are serving as mentors to a student named Yaser. During the first week of the 8-week program, he will be in class, learning basic trade skills (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.) and preparing for on-the-job training. For the remaining 7 weeks, he will split his time between the classroom and doing hands-on training at Notting Hill by ARIUM under the supervision of Aaron Evans (Maintenance Supervisor) and Evan Warren (Maintenance Technician).

Yaser and all of the pre-apprentices will receive a competitive salary, support (e.g. food, transportation, and language services), and complimentary tools. They will earn industry-recognized credentials (NCCER, OSHA-10, CPR/First Aid) as well as college prior learning credit and access to other apprenticeships and college scholarships. After the program, each student is prepared for immediate full-time employment.

At CARROLL’s core is a commitment to positively contribute to society and it is an honor to participate in this special program.
